Record group 78-5 consists of the minutes of meetings of the Michigan Dept. of Licensing and Regulation, Board of Cosmetology for the years 1969-1971. The Board of Cosmetology was created by Public Act 176 of 1931 to license and regulate members of the cosmetology profession (hairdressers, manicurist, and electrologists). The minutes of the meetings relate primarily to complaints brought before the Board, investigations of cosmetology schools, and licensing of individuals entering the profession. Reference is made to action taken in these matters.
